Editorial Policy
Our goal is to publish useful calculator explanations and guides that make their method and limits clear, rather than presenting generic text or unsupported expertise.

Editorial ownership
Octa Calculator is responsible for the calculators, guides, and policy pages published at octacalculator.com. We do not currently publish named reviewer profiles or claim that pages have been reviewed by licensed professionals. Content is therefore presented under Octa Calculator's organization-level editorial ownership.
If named authors or reviewers are added in the future, they will be real people with approved roles, accurate biographies, and a defined review record. We will not create fictional bylines, credentials, source citations, or endorsements.
What we aim to publish
- Calculator pages that explain the calculation, inputs, assumptions, and practical limits.
- Guides that answer a specific reader question with original explanations, examples, and useful visuals.
- Source links placed near the claims, formulas, or data they support.
- Content that distinguishes a planning estimate from professional, legal, medical, financial, tax, engineering, or safety advice.
Research and sources
When a claim depends on an outside fact, standard, product yield, rate, or public rule, we seek the original issuing organization or another authoritative primary source. We read the referenced material before linking to it and describe the scope of the source rather than implying it proves more than it does.
We avoid copying another site's wording or using citations merely to make a page look authoritative. Where no reliable source supports a claim, we remove it, label it as a user-controlled assumption, or explain that the value must be confirmed locally.
Original guides and visuals
Guides are written for a distinct task and should include a worked example, relevant calculator links, and limitations appropriate to the topic. We use durable image assets with descriptive alternative text and captions when an illustration helps a reader understand a measurement, layout, or result. Decorative animation is not a substitute for an explanatory image or a source.
Updates and independence
We update a page when its formula, source material, data, or explanation needs improvement. The date shown as “Updated” records a content or data change; it is not a claim of a separate professional review. Advertising does not determine calculator formulas, source selection, or conclusions.
Corrections and feedback
Visitors can report a possible calculation, content, source, accessibility, or usability issue from a calculator page or by email. We assess reports against the page's method and available evidence. We may correct, clarify, update, or leave content unchanged when a report is not substantiated. We cannot promise an individual reply, a correction, or a particular response time. See our Corrections Policy for the process.
Reader responsibility
The site is for education and planning. Before acting on a result, especially where money, safety, health, construction requirements, legal obligations, or live market terms are involved, verify the current facts and consult an appropriate qualified professional. See the Disclaimer for more information.
